EU Funding Call-Fit Checklist
Before you build a proposal plan, check whether the opportunity deserves the work. Review fit across opportunity type, eligibility, deadline, partner need, documents and available capacity.
Opportunity type
Identify whether you are looking at a grant call, tender, procurement path, prize, framework, cascade funding opportunity or another mechanism.
Applicant fit
Check whether your organisation type, country, size, sector and applicant role match the published rules.
Deadline realism
Count backwards from the submission date. Include partner coordination, document collection, approvals, budget work and team review.
Partner need
Look for required countries, applicant types, expertise, demonstration sites, research partners or consortium structures.
Evidence and documents
List what must be ready: accounts, registration data, technical descriptions, work packages, budget assumptions, references and declarations.
Application effort
Estimate the time, people and opportunity cost. A call can be eligible but still not worth pursuing right now.
Stop, continue or ask
After the first pass, choose one of three next steps.
Stop
Stop if the fit is weak or the deadline is unrealistic.
Continue
Continue if the opportunity is aligned and the missing pieces are manageable.
Ask
Ask for help if one or two fit questions decide whether the application is worth pursuing.
